Ndop is a municipality located in the Ngoketunjia Division in the North West Region of Cameroon. It is about 30 km from Bamenda, which is the regional capital of the North West Region, and can be accessed through the Bamenda-Kumbo stretch of the ring road. The municipality is bordered by several other councils: Babessi to the North, Balikumbat to the East, Tubah to the West, and Noun Division to the South. Ndop is composed of four main villages (fondoms), which are: 1. Bamunka 2. Bambalang 3. Bamessing (Nsei) 4. Bamali These villages collectively make up the Ndop Subdivision.

Ndop Council is one of the four councils in the Ngoketunjia Division of the North West Region. Historically, it was part of the South Eastern Federation of Native Authorities, created in 1940. In 1960, the area was divided, and Ndop became a part of the newly created Ndop Council.
